Mid-September, the Washington Home Owners Association (WHOA) invited Arroyo DECA to present their program to the board members. With enthusiasm, Jose Romero, Juluo DeCastro, Joshua Patstone, and Janet Mo introduced DECA, and it’s history, their past experiences, and their hopeful future with the organization.
The representatives of Arroyo DECA that day were also able to observe and learn about the many responsibilities that WHOA oversee. Finding common ground, Arroyo DECA and WHOA have discovered ways to work together and help the community. An upcoming event planned is a senior home window wash, where DECA students will volunteer their time to wash windows as a way of giving back to the community. With the new partnership, Arroyo DECA hopes to help WHOA with their mission and help keep the Washington Manor neighborhood the best it can be.
