California DECA is thrilled to announce some exciting news: DECA is going to China! This year, DECA is forming a partnership with People to People Ambassador Programs to help send give students the opportunity to attend an immersive 17-day cultural experience in China from July 5-21, 2012.
During this trip, students will get the opportunity to visit the Great Wall of China, glide downriver on a bamboo raft, explore the Forbidden City, and pet a panda at the Beijing Zoo. In addition, People to People will be coordinating DECA-specific experiences, including the opportunity to meet with local businesspeople, visit a local tea farm to learn about international distribution, and explore a Chinese vocational school and Shanghai’s business district. All of this will be led by the travel experts at People to People who will make sure that students’ experience is both safe and incredible. Needless to say, this trip is going to be unlike anything you have ever experienced!
The tuition for the trip is $5,999, which is inclusive of all elements of the event, including international airfare, travel arrangements and accomodations while in China, meals, tour guides, and the opportunity to gain college credit through Eastern Washington University (students must arrange travel to the departure city at their own expense, however). Although the event is primarily geared toward DECA members, any Nevada students are welcome to attend. Best of all, for every 10 students your school recruits, your school will receive one complimentary adult tuition.
