California DECA is excited to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for its state service project of 2011-2013! The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening conditions to enrich their life with hope, strength, and joy.
California DECA’s partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation began when voting delegates at the 2011 State Career Development Conference selected the organization as the official state service project. This partnership between the Make-A-Wish Foundation and California DECA will be for two years (2011-2013) to build a foundation for success and increase California DECA’s support for the organization.
To contribute to Make-A-Wish Foundation, California DECA will be hosting a variety of statewide events to support the Orange County & Inland Empire chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation this year (site of SCDC 2012). California DECA will be hosting Nor Cal’s Got Talent held at Nor Cal Career Development Conference and So Cal’s Got Talent held at So Cal Career Development Conference. There will also be a formal charity ball held at State Career Development Conference to raise funds for the organization. California DECA also encourages the support of local DECA chapters to Make-A-Wish Foundation. DECA chapters can choose to donate to a specific Make-A-Wish chapter to make a difference in a child’s life. The DECA chapters raising the most money for Make-A-Wish Foundation will be recognized on stage at State Career Development Conference. Get excited to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation!
