San Diego, California–November 15-17, 2013–California DECA 2013-2014 State President Dustin Chiang and California DECA Development Director Danielle Tolentino Tuason represented California DECA at the 2013 California Business Education Association State Conference. A conference targeted for business educators from across California, this conference was important in establishing the importance of business education in the classroom and providing educators with the tools and network to further enhance programs in the classroom.
California DECA was represented at an exhibit booth and led a workshop at this event. Both the exhibit booth and workshop were intended for and attended by business educators. The exhibit booth showcased how DECA allows students to apply what they learn in the classroom in order to gain a better understanding and developing employable skills. The workshop focused on classroom engagement strategies and explored how DECA can enhance the classroom experience by increasing student engagement.
At Saturday’s luncheon, State President Dustin Chiang delivered a speech to attendees emphasizing the importance of Career and Technical Education and business education. He commended the attendees for their commitment to students and business education.
