DECA Inc. received over thirty inspirational submissions as part of the 2015 #IamDECA Advocacy Video Challenge. California DECA is honored to recognize two out of the top three winning teams of this challenge as our own. A total of five teams were named finalists globally.
As a part of #CTEMonth, DECA Inc. challenges its members to create and produce a short video that shares how Career Technical Education has impacted their lives so far and expresses their own #IamDECA story.
The winning submissions, by Cathy Ding (Martin Luther King DECA) and Savi Joshi (The Harker School DECA), truly displayed the creativity and passion that California DECA members carry. Both Ding and Joshi described the lasting impact that DECA has made on their lives.
Joshi claimed how DECA is much more than a club to him, and that it has instilled within him “skills that will last a lifetime.” In her video, Ding portrayed the different aspects of her life that have been positively affected by DECA.
“I am so grateful that I had the wonderful opportunity to express the impact that DECA had on my life and share my DECA story with the world,” said Ding, after receiving the results of the challenge.
Congratulations to Cathy Ding and Savi Joshi, and their respective advisors, for this amazing achievement.
