Summer of DECA

Author: California DECA

June 20th marks the first day of summer!

While summer typically signifies pool parties, visits to the beach, climbing temperatures, and daily barbecues, be sure to take advantage of the school-free days! However, don’t forgot about your love of DECA. Here are some ways to remain DECA-cated throughout this #SummerofDECA.

  1. The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is a national partner of DECA, and you can find ways to give back to this amazing organization. Gather your chapter and hold fundraisers throughout the summer for the MDA or other great organizations.

  2. Take this time to get started preparing for your competitive events and cluster exams. Brush up of your PI’s, practice your role-plays, and begin planning your written events.

  3. Chapter leaders! The summer is an important time to prepare for the year ahead. Use this time to establish your chapter goals – whether it be to increase membership or complete more chapter campaigns. Decide how you plan to OWN this next year!

  4. Amidst all the work, don’t forget to have fun! Having chapter time outside of competition can be a valuable experience. Round up your chapter for a picnic, movie night, or another adventure.

  5. Be sure to send all your #SummerofDECA pictures to communicationsvp@californiaDECA.org to be included in our Summer of DECA video!

Team 66 wishes you an awesome summer and is excited to own next year with you!
