DECA offers several conferences, ranging from advisor training, to leadership development conferences, and competitive event conferences. Please see below for more information on the various conferences that California DECA and DECA, Inc. have to offer.
DECA leaders will engage in an array of educational programs to empower them to lead in the upcoming year. There are plenty of opportunities to collaborate, network, achieve, excel, and grow.
A conference focused on bringing California DECA advisors together for 2 days of motivation and empowerment. All California DECA teachers are invited to attend this annual event.
DECA conferences are targeted, highly focused learning experiences for students and advisors that support National Curriculum Standards and the development of 21st Century Skills. DECA conferences bring our members into the larger DECA community while providing unique opportunities to extend classroom learning. Each of DECA’s conferences connects with corporate professionals to engage students in learning industry-related trends and content.

These conferences provide a venue for DECA’s Competitive Events Program as well as additional career and leadership development programs.
The State Career Development Conference (SCDC) is the biggest and most exciting California DECA event of the year. Members from across California gather each year for competitions, workshops, state officer campaigns, networking, and countless other opportunities. The best competitors at SCDC qualify to attend ICDC.
At the International Career Development Conference (ICDC), over 22,000 high school students, advisors, businesspeople, and alumni gather for several days of DECA excitement. Most participants at ICDC compete in one of DECA’s competitive events vying to be the best in the world. In addition to competitive events, many students and advisors participate in a variety of leadership and career-advancing academies.
DECA is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education as a co-curricular student leadership and career technical education program.
California DECA is chartered by the California Department of Education and endorsed as an essential component of business education.
California DECA, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that manages the DECA Charter in California and receives funding from students, alumni, industry supporters, schools, and the California Department of Education via state funding allocations.
