My Experience at the Monta Vista Boot Camp

Author:

I was recently invited to the first-annual Silicon Valley Business Boot Camp at Monta Vista High School. I’m not sure exactly what I had expected, but when I went there, it blew my mind. Here were some incredibly motivated incoming freshmen who took a week out of their summer to participate in this Boot Camp to develop their business skills. Throughout the week they participated in various activities that tested their knowledge. There were practice role-plays and an entrepreneurship presentation project. For the latter, students teamed up and only had 3 days to come up with a unique idea and present their ideas. On the last day, the finalists presented their topics to a panel of actual venture capitalists from the area. I believe that this Boot Camp was a brilliant opportunity for the incoming freshmen and it really excited them for the year!
Thank you to Silicon Valley DECA for inviting me to the Boot Camp and to Monta Vista for sponsoring such a wonderful event!
