Silicon Valley DAT Meets with Assembly Member Fong

Author:

On Saturday, July 28th, six members of the Silicon Valley District Action Team and Michaela Kastelman, the Vice President of Silicon Valley, met with California Assembly member Paul Fong. During the meeting, the officers discussed Silicon Valley DECA’s plans for the coming year, and they also emphasized the importance of the AB 8 Funding for California DECA. Next year, Mr. Fong will be the head of the Career Technical Education committee for the California government, and he was very interested to hear the students’ thoughts on the importance of Career and Technical Student Organizations.
Assembly Member Fong has been a supporter of Silicon Valley DECA since its creation, and Silicon Valley DECA was the first organization to award Mr. Fong a ‘California Legislator of the Year Award” (he has since won 13 more). Silicon Valley DECA looks forward to working with Mr. Fong throughout the year and thanks him for his support.
