Silicon Valley DECA joins Assemblyman Fong and Senator Beall to honor outstanding teachers

California DECA Vice President of Silicon Valley, Bella Zhang, was provided an opportunity by Silicon Valley DECA to meet Assemblyman Fong and Senator Beall on Friday evening, May 10th. She attended a dinner with with Carl Schmidt, Adviser, where she joined the celebration to honor teachers and had the opportunity to share her DECA story.
Assemblyman Fong’s very first Legislator of the Year award was presented to him by Silicon Valley DECA and he keeps it prominently displayed in his office. He mentioned that he is looking forward to meeting Bella and her Hospitality Team on the Assembly floor on Monday, May 20th, to recognize and celebrate their achievement in being the first California team to win First Place in the American Hotel & Lodging Association LMP competition. Senator Beall was especially interested in the achievement of Bella’s team winning the 2013 LMP competition in Orlando, FL. He and his staff are assessing opportunities for the California State Senate to recognize and celebrate this achievement!
Bella is currently a Cupertino resident at Monta Vista High School.  In addition to her role at the state level, Bella serves as President of Silicon Valley DECA. She looks forward to staying connected with Assemblyman Fong and Senator Beall in the future.
