State President Interviewed on Facebook IPO

Author:

Philadelphia, PA—California DECA State President Shruti Thundiyil was recently interviewed about her take on the much-buzzed Facebook initial public offering (IPO). Seeking to get a fresh high school student perspective, the editors of Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS) sought to connect with high school leaders to see if they are watching the business side of Facebook and what they see this meaning for the company, its customers, and the end product. KWHS is a program through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. You can view the article here.
With California being home to many leading technology companies, Thundiyil, a senior at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, was able to bring a unique and fresh perspective. Knowledge@Wharton is a new partner to California DECA as it brings its Global Leaders Network to the members of the state association. More information on DECA’s partnership can be found here.
Thundiyil’s interview is just one of several impressive articles featuring California DECA state presidents the last three years. The previous two state presidnets have been interviewed by the likes of the Wall Street Journal and ABC News for their impressive entrepreneurship endeavors. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe, including over 70 schools in California and nearly 3,500 members.

Knowledge@Wharton is the online business analysis journal of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
