Promoting Your Chapter With the New DECA Inc. Promotion Campaign

Author:

California DECA is taking the new DECA Inc. Chapter Campaigns and incorporating them into the annual Program of Work, including the Promotional Campaign. The promotion campaign focuses on three areas DECA can be promoted in your community: school outreach activities, success stories of alumni, and community outreach activities.
School outreach activities consist of advocating and increasing awareness of DECA at the chapter level. Examples include holding a DECA lunch-time activity for members of the student body to take part in or having DECA trivia on the morning announcements.
Success stories of alumni are the second part of the promotion plan. For this section each chapter should contact successful DECA alumni from your chapter and use their success story as the basis for this aspect of the campaign. Successful DECA alumni stories can be shared in your local newspapers, on your chapter’s website or alumni can even present their story to your DECA chapter as a guest speaker.
The final part of the promotion campaign is a community outreach activity. This includes a chapter working as a whole to contribute to the community. Some examples are holding a coat drive, or volunteering at the local library. California DECA chapters are encouraged to participate in the Make A Wish Foundation, which has been chosen as the California DECA State Project.
We look forward to recognizing the chapters that complete the DECA Inc. Promotion Campaign! Good luck and start promoting DECA!
